Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arun Jaitley on Wednesday reacted with surprise to former Rashtruya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Pappu Yadav's allegations that former union minister Yashwant Sinha offered money to three MPs of his Indian Federal Democratic Party during the 1998 no-confidence motion.

"I am surprised that even he can write a book. Their credibility is questionable. So no one needs to react to their charges," Jaitley told media here.

Earlier, Pappu Yadav had said, "Ranjit Ranjan sees Soniaji as his mother. It is because of her leadership, the Congress has become strong and united. She saw Soniaji and her behaviour towards people. How sensitive she is for people. It is because of this, that she supported the Congress on issue (Nuclear Deal),"

"I have family relations with Amar Singh, and that's why I supported Congress during the no-confidence motion. But offer of money was made by the BJP and the BSP. Vijay Malhotra met me and he said UPA also gives out money. I said this is not true," he said on the 2008 no-confidence motion.

"I am not saying money was offered, I am just saying what I saw (on horse trading). Pramod Mahajan and Yashwant Sinha were "Sanket mochaks" for the NDA, and everybody knows what 'sanket mochak' stands for these days" he said on the 1998 no-confidence motion.
