Hailing the ordinance for lifting ban from bull-taming sport Jallikattu, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam on Sunday said that the state assembly will table a draft tomorrow churning out a permanent solution in this regard.

Addressing the media here, Panneerselvam asserted that the people of Tamil Nadu are able to practice Jallikattu post the relentless pressure created by the state government and the AIADMK Party.

"We will table a draft tomorrow in the assembly and get it passed. After Presidential nod it will be made as bill, which is a permanent solution to the Jallikattu issue. Tamil Nadu's aspirations were fulfilled after putting the continuous pressure from the state government and the AIADMK party," he said.

"Now, ban on Jallikattu has been removed which was Tamil people's demand. The ordinance was duly approved by the President and the Central Government. Jallikattu is happening at most of the places in Tamil Nadu today," he added.

Tamil Nadu Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao yesterday approved the ordinance issued by the state government revoking ban on Jallikattu.

The Bill to replace today's ordinance passed by the Governor on Jallikattu, will be tabled in the state assembly when the first assembly session begins tomorrow.

Panneerselvam informed Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the ordinance promulgated by the state government and said that Jallikattu is to be conducted with customary fervor with all necessary safeguards.

From the past five days, Chennai's Marina Beach has been thronged by massive crowd demanding to lift the ban of the traditional sport.

The Tamil Nadu Government had earlier sent an ordinance on Jallikattu to the Home Ministry, which was passed by the Centre yesterday.

The ordinance was later sent to President Pranab Mukherjee for his assent.
