Jat stir: Haryana's situation returning to normalcy

After a long time, Haryana is returning to normalcy with the agitators removed from most of the roads including NH1, NH10 and railway tracks.

President of Akhil Bhartiya Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti Yashpal Malik has said that the Jat agitators had left the railway track near Mayyer. He said that as per his knowledge agitators have cleared almost all the blockades. The agitators have left the Bhattu rail track in Fatehabad district. However, the agitators in Sonipat today morning set on fire some shops.

Meanwhile, Sonipat Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Rattan has ordered to keep all government and non-government educational institutions closed till tomorrow.

In Rohtak candle march for peace was taken out. Rohtak Range IGP Shrikant Yadav, who was being blamed for letting the things happen has been shifted. He is posted as the IG State Crime Record Bureau at Madhuban. The curfew has been lifted at Rohtak and Sonipat.

Sirsa Deputy Commissioner has also announced to keep government and private educational institutions closed. Army has taken control of western Yamuna link canal and water supply to Delhi is being restored.

The five member committee set up by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to look into the Jat quota demand held its second meeting in the national capital today. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was also present in the meeting. The committee headed by Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu took stock of the situation and discussed how to move forward in the matter. The committee will hold meeting with legal experts tomorrow on the issue. Meanwhile, Home Minister Rajnath Singh also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and dioscussed on the matter.
