Janata Dal (United) legislators on Friday staged a protest wearing black bands on their mouth outside the Bihar assembly.

"We are wearing these black bands because when 130 of us went to the Governor's House, saying we have the majority and must be allowed to form the government, the Governor did not believe us. That is why we are protesting with these black bands today," said JD (U) leader Neeta Choudhary

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs had also staged a protest yesterday against Bihar Assembly Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary over his 'unethical and unconstitutional' move to declare the Janata Dal (United) as the main opposition party.

The political future of Jitan Ram Manjhi government will be decided today after Governor Kesri Nath Tripathi's address at the joint session of the State legislature in Patna.

Manjhi government will present the trust vote in the state assembly after Bihar Assembly Speaker, Uday Narayan Choudhary, granted the main opposition status to JD (U).

The BJP has asked its 87 MLAs to vote in favour of Manjhi today while the JD(U), RJD, Congress and CPI have issued a whip to its legislators to vote against the Manjhi government.

The Janata Dal (United) and BJP have accused each other of being responsible for the current political crisis in Bihar.
