Mitchell Johnson's Ashes rampage has got the highest praise from former Australian cricketer Jeff Thomson who was reminded of the hurricane force that he and Dennis Lillee were in the 1974-75 series against England, according to reports.
According to News.com.au, Thomson revealed that for him, it was really shades of '74 and he was really pleased for Johnson as he exposed the weak backfoot techniques of the England batsmen.
Thomson said that Johnson made the rest of the bowlers look like medium pacers, adding that it was great to see a bit of feeling back in the game.
He added that what impressed him about Johnson was that even though it was a flat deck he never dropped his pace back and went through the motions like some did.
