The Delhi High Court on Tuesday extended the parole of convict Manu Sharma, who is serving life term in the murder of model Jessica Lal, to pursue his LLB and also for his marriage registration.
On December 27 last year, the Delhi government on had granted two weeks parole to Sharma to enable him to appear for his LLB second semester exams from December 31, 2016 onwards.
Sharma has been given parole six times since September 2009 and is pursuing a Bachelor's in Law course from Annamalai University, Chennai.
Jessica was shot by Manu when she refused to serve him liquor at Tamarind Court restaurant, owned by socialite Bina Ramani at Qutub Colonnade in south Delhi's Mehrauli on April 29, 1999.
Manu Sharma is a son of former Congress leader Venod Sharma.
