JJ Abrams refutes axing Lupita Nyong'o's 'Star Wars' scenes

A news paper in United Kingdom said Nyong'o's role in the movie had massively been cut in the finished edit and there was a general sense that something wasn't working so a lot of her scenes ended up being reworked, News.com.aureports.
However, in an interview with a newspaper, Abrams said that the 32-year-old actress was spectacular, adding that she had brought the character of Maz Kanata to life in the most wonderful, wise, touching, deep and funny way.
The 49-year-old said that Lupita elevated all the scenes she was in, adding that he was forever grateful and could not wait for people to see her stunning performance.
