JK: BSF successfully foils three infiltration bids by terrorists along IB

The Border Security Force (BSF) has successfully foiled three recent infiltration bids by terrorist groups from Pakistan, during the period of 36 hours on 29th and 30th October in Hiranagar Sector, Kathua on the International Boundary of Jammu.

Under the cover of ongoing recent heavy cross border firing and shelling, Pakistan has relentlessly tried to push heavily armed militants groups into the Indian Territory with nefarious intention to disturb peace and cause causalities of, the BSF said in a statement.

There were three attempts of infiltration by the terrorists groups which have been successfully foiled by the alert BSF troops in the face of danger to their life.

In the wee hours of 29th October, a group of heavily armed terrorists attempted to infiltrate in Hiranagar Sector, but the alert BSF troops forced them to retreat by effective fire and successfully foiled an infiltration bid while Pakistan Rangers provided them covering fire.

On 30th October around midnight, again a heavily armed group terrorists was detected by alert troops across the IB in other area of Hiranagar Sector and reached in vicinity of International Boundary taking advantage of dead ground.

They were kept under close watch and on effective fire of BSF, they took shelter in dead ground having thick wild growth.

"BSF troops kept the area under close watch during whole day and while whole the country was celebrating Diwali, the alert BSF troops spotted the same group of terrorists in the evening close to the International Boundary. They remained hidden during day for infiltration. The BSF troops on duty maintaining high alert round the clock on the International Boundary being well aware of ill intention of Pakistan particularly in view of Diwali festival, opened fire to neutralize them, the BSF statement added.

On being exposed, armed militants, targeted BSF troops on duty by heavy firing but were forced to retreat by effective fire. Once they were targeted heavily by BSF with accurate fire, The Pakistan Rangers came to their rescue and provided the covering fire support to the militants group for their safe withdrawal towards Pakistani villages.
