A new survey has found that Harry Potter novels of JK Rowling, Roald Dahl's 'The Twits' and Enid Blyton's Famous Five are losing their touch among young readers.
According to the data collected from Public Lending Right, part of the British Library, Rowling, who once dominated the list of Top Ten Most Borrowed Children's Books, failed to even feature on this year's list, the Daily Express reported.
The list was topped by Daisy Meadows' 'Rainbow Magic', followed by 'The Gruffalo' by Julia Donaldson.
Francesca Simon's 'Horrid Henry', 'The Story of Tracey Beaker' by Jacqueline Wilson and 'Kipper, the Dog and Wibbly Pig' by Mick Inkpen concluded the top five.
The top ten most borrowed children's books are:
1) 'Rainbow Magic' by Daisy Meadows
2) 'The Gruffalo' by Julia Donaldson
3) 'Horrid Henry' by Francesca Simon
4) 'The Story of Tracey Beaker' by Jacqueline Wilson
5) 'Kipper, the Dog and Wibbly Pig' by Mick Inkpen
6) 'Beast Quest and Sea Quest' by Adam Blake
7) 'Horrible Histories' by Terry Deary
8) 'That's Not My' by Fiona Watt
9) 'Matilda' by Roald Dahl
