Hollywood helmer Jodie Foster has admitted that females should be promoted in entertainment industry and on the big screen as it is valuable for her to see women working in the film industry.
The Oscar winning director and actress recently accepted the Laura Ziskin Lifetime Achievement Award at the Athena Film Festival and said that when she started working in the film industry, she never saw a woman's face apart from the lady playing her mom's role or her makeup artist, People Magazine reported.
The 52-year-old actress added to her speech that as time went on, the things have been changed positively, but still there is much to be done for gender equality, as there are were less female directors.
Foster has also directed episodes of 'House of Cards' and 'Orange is the New Black'.
