Oscar-nominated actor Joaquin Phoenix starrer 'Joker' origin movie has a release date.
Warner Bros. announced that the film will hit the big screens on October 4, 2019, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.
Set in the '80s, Phoenix will play the legendary supervillain in the upcoming 'Joker' origin story which will be helmed by Todd Phillips.
The studio said that the film "centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips' exploration of a man disregarded by society is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale."
Emma Tillinger Koskoff will produce 'Joker', with Richard Baratta executive producing.
The filming is supposed to begin later this year.
