Jurors in the Michael Jackson wrongful death trial have declared that the late singer's mum, Katherine, has standing to seek damages against concert promoter AEG Live in the pop icon's death.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge issued a partial directed verdict in favour of Jackson's mother because according to him evidence proved the late singer provided for "everything," including Katherine's household expenses and food, CNN reported.

Testimony ended on Friday as lawyers for the concert promoter unsuccessfully argued that Katherine could not sue because she was also supported by daughter Janet Jackson.
