A district court here on Monday extended the judicial custody of Tehelka magazine founder editor Tarun Tejpal, who has been charged of sexually harassing a woman journalist, by 12 days.
At the end of the 12-day initial custody, Judicial Magistrate first class Sarika Faldesai extended the judicial custody of Tejpal.
Earlier today, Tejpal's lawyers moved a petition in the court seeking his bail. The petition states that 'the accused has not been questioned by police since he was lodged in judicial custody'. Tejpal has been lodged in Sada sub jail near Vasco town.
The hearing of the bail plea is scheduled on December 26.
On December 11, a local court in Panaji had placed Tejpal in judicial custody for twelve days.
Tejpal is in custody on charges of rape of a female junior colleague during a media event in a Goa hotel in the first week of November.
