Julianne Moore wins best actress for 'Map to the Stars' at Cannes 2014

Julianne Moore won the best actress prize at Cannes for her role in 'Maps to the Stars' by David Cronenberg.

In the movie, Moore portrays as actress Havana who is forced to deal with the psychological impact of growing up in a dysfunctional acting family in Hollywood, Contactmusic reported.

Turkish film 'Winter Sleep' by Nuri Bilge Ceylan bagged the highest honour Palme d'or at the festival.

The critically acclaimed movie follows the family story of a former actor running a hotel in a small town in Anatolia.

Timothy Spall received the award for best actor for Mr. Turner.
