Julie Andrews has referred to Lady Gaga as her new friend after the singer paid tribute to the veteran star with a beautiful rendition of 'The Sound of Music' at the 2015 Oscars.
The 79-year-old Oscar winning actress said that she was deeply honored by the Academy's lovely tribute and especially touched by Gaga's "wonderful performance," People magazine reported.
Andrews, who received a collective round of reverential "awww"s in the lobby of the Dolby Theatre when she took the stage at the prestigious event, added that she had always been a fan, but ever since they bonded that night, she has a new friend.
