American actor-singer-songwriter Justin Timberlake has reportedly spoken in defense of Miley Cyrus' raunchy VMAs performance, saying that the uproar is uncalled for as such things are expected at VMAs.
The 32-year old former Disney Star admitted that he likes Cyrus and said that such acts are her way of letting everyone know that she is growing up, and also pointed out that the VMAs have historically been the one awards show where pretty much anything goes, Us Magazine reported.
The 'SexyBack' singer, who performed with his former 'N Sync bandmates, said that the 20-year old singer should be allowed to do her thing and asked to cut her some slack as she didn't do it at the Grammys.
Timberlake, who received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the event, also confessed that he thought "all the bears were really cool" and loved the Smith family's reaction to Cyrus' performance.
