The representatives of the Karnataka State Temperance Board (KSTB), inspired by the alcohol prohibition in Bihar, met Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to discuss the different aspects of the ban.
The 31-member delegation of the KSTB, headed by Chairman H.C. Rudrappa, visited to take tips from Nitish on the prohibition policy as well as its implementation.
During the event, Nitish termed prohibition as a 'mass movement' and said a major change was witnessed in the standard of living of the people after this initiative.
The Bihar chief minister said that his government's next agenda was to root out the ill-practice of child marriage and dowry from the society.
He further said there were people who broke the laws, but the state government was very vigilant and was taking an apt action against them.
Nitish Kumar added a strong will was needed to take decisions like the implementation of prohibition of alcohol.
