The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the car suicide bomb attack near a market area in Juy-e-Shir area of Kabul city on Sunday morning.
Seven civilians, including a woman and child, were injured in the attack which targeted a British troop convoy passing through the area.
No deaths have been reported so far.
A number of shops were also reported to be damaged in the blast.
According the Tolo news, Kabul police Chief Abdul Rahman Rahimi confirmed that the British troop is a part of the NATO-led coalition forces in the country.
The new chief of Afghan Taliban, Mullah Mansour, had last month demanded the cancellation of security deal with the United States and removal of all foreign troops to bring peace in Afghanistan.
