Cricket legend Jacques Kallis has given 'thumbs up' to the newly appointed Proteas captain Hashim Amla.

Kallis believes that Amla would create his own legacy as he has played the cricket at the highest level and has succeeded vehemently.

According to Sport24, Amla's record with the bat is impeccable, having amassed 6214 runs in 76 Tests, at an average of 51.35. He was the first South African to score a triple century, making 311 not out against England at the Oval in 2012.

The all-rounder further added that Amla would be the kind of captain who would lead the team from the front through his game and give a unique perspective through his calming influence.
