Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh today refused to comment on reports that he is being offered the role of a governor.
Singh told ANI, "I don't want to take any decision about myself. The party has all arights to decide about me. Whatever the party decides, I will accept it like any party worker. There is no force on me for saying or doing so."
Singh also expressed confidence that the BJP will return to power in the state in 2017 elections. He also spoke about his unwavering commitment to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and reiterated that he would accept the party's commands.
M.K Narayanan's resignation as the Governor of West Bengal was accepted by the President two days ago. B.L Joshi was the first to resign as Governor of Uttar Pradesh followed by Shekhar Dutt's resignation as Chhattisgarh Governor. Goa Governor B V Wanchoo resigned last evening following questioning by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with his role in the VVIP Agusta-Westland chopper scam.
Six governors have already resigned after BJP took charge as the ruling party in May this year. It is expected that these vacancies will be filled in coming weeks, if not days.
The NDA Government had made it clear that it is not pressurising anybody to quit.
