Kanye West, who was admitted to 'UCLA Medical Center' for exhaustion and sleep deprivation a week ago, is still being heavily supervised.

A source told People magazine that the 39-year-old rapper generally has "big ups and big downs, but this bout seems to be much more serious. In the hospital he has been very paranoid and is under constant watch for his safety."

"He's still there because clearly he's not doing well," the insider added.

Earlier last week, West was hospitalized shortly after he canceled the remaining dates of his 'Saint Pablo' tour.

Wife Kim Kardashian West had been "very concerned" as she spent Thanksgiving morning by West's side in the hospital.

"She says he has yet to be diagnosed, but she uses words like paranoia and explained that Kanye thinks everyone is out to get him. The only person Kanye trusts is Kim," disclosed a source close to the family.

Another source revealed that it remains unclear when the 'Fade' rapper will be able to return home, but claimed that a recent update was a positive one.

"They tell me he's doing good," the source said, adding that "he's been really eager to make music" and to "work" even from the hospital bed.
