The Karnataka Government has written a letter to Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) to cancel recognition of Vibgyor School over the rape of a six-year old girl.
Earlier today, there was uproar in the Karnataka Assembly, as the opposition cornered the state government on the issue.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs protested against the Congress Government and demanded the resignation of the state home minister K J George in the wake of the incident.
The girl of Vibgyor School on Varthur-Haralur Road, near Kundalahalli Gate was allegedly raped on July 2. Since the incident, angered parents have vandalised the school premises demanding an explanation. They alleged that the school management was not addressing the issue with utmost urgency.
The minor girl was attacked and raped by two gym instructors when she had gone to washroom.
