Katie Couric makes debut as Yahoo 'global anchor'

Katie Couric interviewed Robert Gates, as she made her debut as Yahoo's global anchor on Monday.

The anchor, who once was an NBC News Pentagon correspondent, sat down with Gates the day before publication of his memoir, 'Duty,' the Politico reported.

Couric told the publication in a telephone interview that she wanted to talk to him about "politics, personalities and policy."

It was reported that Couric took the opportunity to interview Gates after she read about his book.
