Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia on Friday said jailed party chief Arvind Kejriwal has always fought against corruption and corrupt leaders, and added that he will continue to do so.

Earlire today, Arvind Kejriwal's judicial custody was extended by a Delhi court till June 6 in connection with a defamation case.

Reading Kejriwal's letter addressed to his supporters, Sisodia said, "Kejriwal has raised this question in his letter that he did not commit any theft or loot, but has only talked about corruption and corrupt people. Now, if he says anything against Kapil Sibal, then his son filed a defamation case. Same happened in Sheila Dikshit and Nitin Gadkari cases. And now he has been sent to jail."

"Kejriwal has always spoken against corruption and will continue to do so. This is what he has written in his letter. He has spent his life fighting against corruption and he will continue to do so even if has to fight from jail or from a road," he added.

He also said that Kejriwal has claimed in his letter that he is being targeted as he raised his voice against corrupt practices of certain leaders.

Kejriwal was arrested and sent to jail after he refused to furnish a bail bond in a criminal defamation complaint filed by BJP leader Nitin Gadkari.

The court had on February 28 summoned Kejriwal as an accused in the criminal defamation complaint observing that statements allegedly made by the AAP leader have the effect of "harming the reputation" of the complainant.

The summons was issued against Kejriwal on a complaint in which Gadkari had alleged that he was defamed by Kejriwal, who had included his name in the party's list of "India's most corrupt".
