Kerry Washington appeared on 'Saturday Night Live' to address the controversy surrounding the lack of black females on the US comedy show's cast.

The 'Scandal' star also mocked the recent criticism aimed at the programme's producers, Contactmusic reported.

Washington opened the show with a skit in which she had to play all the black female characters, including Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey and singer Beyonce, as there were no other African-American women on the cast to take on the roles.
