At least two persons drowned during the Kinner Kailash Yatra in Kinnaur, as heavy rains lashed the town.
The Kinnaur district administration said that owing to the heavy rainfall, a flash flood had occurred near Tangling village on Friday evening, due to which the pilgrims of Kinner Kailash Yatra were left stranded.
While two persons died during the yatra, 251 others were rescued till Saturday evening.
Due to the inclement weather, the ongoing Kinner-Kailash Yatra has been stopped by the administration till further orders.
Last week, the India Meteorological Development (IMD) issued a heavy rain alert for Bilaspur, Shimla, Mandi, Kangra, Kinnaur and Sirmaur districts of Himachal Pradesh.
