Kiran Bedi is a 'rank opportunist': P C Chacko

Senior Congress leader P C Chacko on Saturday said that newly recruited Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member and former Indian Police Service officer Kiran Bedi is a 'rank opportunist'

"Whether she is the CM candidate or not, that's not very important for the people of Delhi, because the people consider her a rank opportunist," Chacko said.

The Congress leader alleged that Bedi had earlier accused and abused all political parties and politicians.

"The way she exhibited herself in Delhi during Anna Hazare's agitation, she has been accusing and abusing all political parties in the country without exception," he said.

He also alleged that the newly inducted BJP leader had earlier termed the BJP and the Congress as corrupt.

"BJP and Congress, she termed them as corrupt parties and every politician corrupt, and she was declining and denying all political parties and political leaders," Chacko said.

"She has joined at the last hour without any conviction, without contributing to the ideology of the BJP," he added.

Chacko further said Bedi is nothing but a clear case of opportunism.

"Today, she comes out and says that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is an inspiration. It means that this is nothing but opportunism," he said.
