Swashbuckling batsman Virat Kohli has become the only Indian to feature in this year's annual list of the world's 100 highest-paid athletes, according to the Forbes.
According to the list, the 28-year-old Indian skipper is currently standing at the 83rd spot with a total earnings of 24 million dollars over the last 12 months-- 4 million dollars through salary and winnings and 20 million dollars through brand endorsements.
However, the list of world's highest-paid athletes 2018 is an all-male affair and that there is no female athlete featuring on the list.
American boxing star Floyd Mayweather tops the list with a earning of 285 million dollars in the same period. His earnings are more than one-fourth of Kohli.
It should be noted that Mayweather has occupied the numero-uno spot in the list of the world's highest-paid athlete for the fourth time in seven years.
Having secured the top position in the list for the past two years, Real Madrid star striker Cristiano Ronaldo (108 million dollars) has moved down to number three rank behind his Real Madrid rival Lionel Messi (111 million dollars).
While mixed martial artist and boxer, Conor McGregor standing at the fourth spot with a total earning of 99 million dollars, Paris Saint Germain forward Neymar ($90 million) completes the top five.
Athletes from 11 different sports made the cut in the list, with NBA players lead the compilation with a total of 40 basketball players among the top 100.
NBA star LeBron James, who is standing at sixth rank with total earnings of 112 million dollars, is the highest-paid basketball player to feature on the list.
