Former Test spinner Jason Krejza has said that Nathan Lyon must despair at needing to constantly convince critics that he is Australia's best tweaker.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Krejza, who took 12 wickets in his Test debut against India in 2008, said Lyon emphasised his skill when he tormented England's batsmen during the first innings of the opening Ashes Test in Brisbane.
He hoped his 2-17 effort would give Lyon some respite from those who questioned his credentials, the report said.
Krejza said that he has seen Lyon bowl at New South Wales' training, and, while the wickets didn't come in the Ryobi Cup, he bowled very well.
He added that it was frustrating when he saw the media keep speculating about his spot even though he had done a really good job for Australia, adding that Lyon's numbers were good and he was only going to get better.
