She won an IIFA award as soon as she waltzed into Bollywood two years back and now, Kriti Sanon is all "excited" about coming back to IIFA and performing for the first time.
While talking to the media at an official IIFA press conference here, the 26-year-old actress said, "It's my first performance at IIFA and I'm really thrilled. I am very very excited."
Sharing one of her fond memories of IIFA, she said, "Winning the debut award was a special moment because it was for the first time that my family was there at an award function."
"A funny thing which I will always remember is that my parents never used to attend any award function with me because my mom used to think that if she will come, then I will fall on stage. I would trip or something would happen, especially Punjabi moms are more worried about all these things," the 'Raabta' star revealed.
"But they still did come for IIFA and I told them that it's very special for me. And I wanted them to see me holding that trophy in my hand," she added.
The 'Heropanti' star continued that while she was walking up the stage wearing a long gown to receive the honour, her "mother's words were playing in my head that I would trip and I was almost about to trip, but I didn't."
The show is set to feature a never-seen-before medley of musicians that includes Benny Dayal, Javed Ali, Neeti Mohan, Jonita Gandhi, Haricharan Seshadri.
The Awards 2017, to be held at New York's iconic MetLife Stadium on July 15, will witness power-packed performances by Bollywood superstars - Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, Shahid Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon, to name a few.
