The Los Angeles-based artist has cancelled his art exhibition featuring Jennifer Lawrence and other celebrities' recently "leaked" nude photos.

Artist XVALA, who was going to display the hijacked images printed onto life-sized canvases in an exhibition called 'No Delete', said that several "persuasive" online petition changed his mind, the Mirror reported.

XVALA added that it was more of "stolen property" than "hacked" images as "powerfully persuasive people" were identifying with Lawrence's and Kate Upton's victimization, much more than he had anticipated.

According to XVALA, the upcoming event's concept was always about "self-examination" and the need to know and cross the lines of other individuals' privacy in the current culture.

The petition signed by concerned public urging the artist to cancel the event focused on the issue of the exploitation of women; specifically the two celebrities.

The exhibition was due to take place at the Cory Allen Contemporary Art gallery in St Petersburg, Florida, on October 30, 2014.
