The alleged mastermind of the 2008 Mumbai attack Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi has challenged his two day physical detention in an abduction case in a district and sessions court in Islamabad as his counsel said that the FIR against him was only due to pressure from India and lacked any basis.
Lakhvi was remanded in police custody for two days in a kidnapping case by a local court in Islamabad, a day after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) approved his release, reported Dawn News.
The abduction charges accuse Lakhvi to be involved in the abduction of a man named Anwar six and a half years ago.
The second FIR was registered barely hours after the IHC ordered his conditional release yesterday.
