Asserting that all parties of the Janta Parivar are united, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav on Wednesday criticized Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushil Kumar Modi for making irrational statements in this regard.
"Is he the spokesperson of the Samajwadi Party? Has he left the BJP?" Lalu said when asked to comment on Sushil Modi's remark that the merger has come to an end because Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav is not ready.
"We all are together. And we want other people also to join," he added.
Lalu said the BJP and a certain section of the media is eager to know as to when the merger of the Janta Parivar would take place.
"The merger has already taken place. Why you people are so tensed about it?" he said.
The former Bihar chief minister further said that Mulayam would very soon make an official announcement in this regard.
"The announcement has already been done. Mulayam Singhji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) will announce. Should everybody keep on announcing it?" he said.
Lalu also took a jibe at the 'Swacch Bharat Abhiyan' launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre.
"The cleaning department is with the BJP and the people of India have given them this responsibility. And we are here to govern," he said jokingly.
