U.S. Deputy Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Laurel Miller, led an interagency delegation to New Delhi from February 16 to 18 to continue the high-level U.S.-India consultations on Afghanistan.
Miller met with the government officials, civil society and political leaders in the national capital.
The consultations helped advance the two countries' shared commitment to regional cooperation on working towards a stable and prosperous Afghanistan.
As U.S. President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Narendra Modi outlined in their 2015 Joint Statement, the United States and India share the commitment for a secure, stable and prosperous Afghanistan.
The leaders have repeatedly asserted the importance of a sustainable, inclusive, sovereign and democratic political order in Afghanistan for the benefit of the entire region.
