Cutting across party lines, political parties rapped Pakistan on Thursday for its latest ceasefire violation which resulted in the loss of life of one BSF soldier and left three injured.
One Wednesday, one Border Security Force (BSF) personnel was killed and three personnel were injured in cross-border firing in Jammu and Kashmir.
Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Naresh Agarwal demanded strict action from the government against Pakistan.
"We want to ask the prime minister that one of our soldiers died, how many soldiers of Pakistan died? You used to say if one soldier of our side is killed, we will kill millions of their soldiers but then why is Pakistan being given so much freedom? Why are we showing our interests in holding talks and why do we not become strict?" said Agarwal.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Yogi Adityanath also appealed his party to treat Pakistan as an enemy.
"It will be our mistake if we do not act against Pakistanis as enemies and treat them strictly before they kill more of our soldiers," said Yogi Adityanath, also a religious leader.
Calling it as a regular incident, Nationalist Communist Party (NCP) leader Tariq Anwar suggested the government to hold talks with Pakistan to sort out the matter.
"These incidents always happen and if the prime minister claims that as soon as we come to power these attacks will stop, it will be false. So we can see the claims were wrong. It is better that we make a system that both sides hold timely talks about these matters and try to prevent them from happening in future," said Anwar.
