After winning Ashes, Australian coach Darren Lehmann has outlined his next goal for his team to be the first in 15 months to win a Test series away from home.
The team will have to defeat No.1 ranked South Africa to achieve Lehmann's target.
The only time the Proteas have lost a series at home or away in the past seven years was in early 2009 against Australia, the team they have failed to beat in the six series they've hosted since their re-entry to international cricket in the early 1990s.
Until the current series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, which visitor Sri Lanka is expected to win, home teams have either won or drawn in the past 18 Test series to have been played, The Sydney Morning herald reports.
The last touring victor was England, away to India in late 2012.
Last year Australia failed to win any of the nine Tests it played away-four in India and five in England. Lehmann was in charge of the latter, and was appointed just over a fortnight beforehand.
