New Zealand is fast moving ahead on their way to victory in the first Test against India at Auckland after the tourists were stopped at a measly 130-4 due to bad light on the second day on Friday.
The hosts' massive first innings of 503 included an epic 224 from captain Brendon McCullum, his second Test double century, after which pace duo Trent Boult and Tim Southee reduced India to 10-3 in reply, including the prized scalps of Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli.
According to Stuff.co.nz, although the tourists recovered via Rohit Sharma who was unbeaten on 67 at the close, bad light forced players off at 5.35 pm (New Zealand time) with 17 overs left to be bowled.
The forecast is for largely fine weather in the next three days and New Zealand is at short odds to go 1-0 up in the two-Test series, the report added.
