To make the dream of a leukemia patient come true, San Francisco was transformed into Gotham, while the 5-year-old acted as Batman.

The 'Make-a-Wish Foundation' catered to Miles Scott's dream to be Batman for a day, which saw thousands of people on the streets to cheer him up and even President Obama issued his first Vine on Twitter congratulating him, ABC News reported.

Scott's day began with a special edition cover of the San Francisco Chronicle, whose entire front page was dedicated to him with the headline for the lead story, written by Clark Kent, read 'Batkid Saves City'.

The other front-page stories about Batkid were written by Lois Lane, Brenda Starr and Perry White.

The kid also got to take on real-life tasks where he helped the police solve a crime and "bringing the bad guys to justice" and included rescuing a damsel in distress tied up across the Hyde Street cable car line and capturing the Riddler in the act of robbing a downtown vault.

He was later thanked by the mayor and police chief at the City Hall and even the U.S. Attorney's office issued a news release announcing the arrest of the Riddler and the Penguin and thanked the BatKid.
