Chinese tennis ace Li Na, who has been forced to retire from the sport due to a serious knee injury, has revealed that she will try her best to help more children play through her own tennis academy.
Na said that tennis is what she loves, so she would try her best to help more children play, adding that they have discussed things about the tennis academy with many related departments.
Na said that as to when the tennis academy will open, they have to see how things go, China Daily reported.
Na, the most successful tennis player in China, announced her retirement through her micro blog on Friday, saying that she has to call an end to her competitive career due to knee injuries.
The two-time Grand Slam champion said that she won't be a coach of one or two particular players, but work more on the basic training of children at their starting point.
The Chinese tennis star said that she always thinks highly of the development of tennis in her country. She added that since more international tennis events have come to China, more and more young players have had the chances to face high-level international opponents at an early age.
Na said that she wants to build a solid foundation for Chinese tennis from the very beginning.
