Libya is holding quick elections on Wednesday in an attempt to end the prevailing anarchy in the country.
According to the BBC, a new 200-seat parliament will be elected in the second poll since the Gaddafi regime's overthrow.
The election is being held in the country to elect a new national parliament despite a major part of the country suffering the worst violence since the 2011 uprising.
The poll has been described by the United Nations as an important step in Libya's transition towards stable democratic governance.
It is reported that more than 1.5 million voters have registered for the election as compared with 2.8 million who registered for Libya's first election in 2012.
