As Nepal marks the first anniversary of the devastating earthquake, the National Seismological Centre (NSC) today recorded a tremor of 4.2 magnitude in Nuwakot district.
The tremor, whose epicentre lies northwest of the Kathmandu Valley, has been listed as an aftershock of last year's 7.6 earthquake that hit Barpak of Gorkha district, reports the Himalayan Times.
The National Seismological Centre has recorded more than 30,000 aftershocks of the Gorkha earthquake in an year, but the data of only 447 significant aftershocks were processed to alert the public.
The aftershock was recorded at a location with coordinates 28.08°, 85.13°, north of Bhalche, at around 2:16 a.m.
