There are certain things that a hotel guest wants or really wants to avoid.
According to a survey of Australian travellers by accommodation booking website HotelClub.com, tired Australians prefer much-needed sleep-in over a nice room.
More than 22 percent surveyed chose a late check out/early check-in as their top free hotel inclusion, News.com.au reported.
20 percent wanted an upgrade, 18 percent were in the need of high-speed wi-fi, and just about 16 percent wanted food and beverage credits.
Meanwhile, 10 percent polled wanted free stays for kids, 9 percent were interested in free massages, 4 percent craved a free bottle of wine, and less than 1 percent said that they wanted a nanny service and slippers.
President of HotelClub Nicolas Chu said that the results suggested that upgrades are not always the top priority of travellers.
The survey also revealed the pet peeves; 33 percent of travellers got annoyed by lack of cleanliness, 17 percent disliked uncomfortable beds, 13 percent hated noise and disruptions and 11 percent were not in favour of extra or unexpected fees.
Poor customer service came next at 8 percent, followed by poor room facilities (6 percent), bad hotel facilities (4 percent) and below-standard bathrooms (3 per cent).
Other pet peeves were poor security, poor room lighting and ventilation.
