Lindsay Lohan was not present at the premiere of her upcoming flick 'The Canyons' at the Venice Film Festival.
However, director Paul Schrader seemed relieved at the film festival, saying the he is 'free man' now, the Independent reported.
Schrader said that he had been held hostage by his own choice of a very talented yet unpredictable actress, for the last 16 months.
The 67-year-old director said that Lohan, who has been credited as a co-producer for his upcoming flick was supposed to be present for the premiere but didn't come.
