Since the Fifa World Cup 2018, a debate, which every soccer fan is aware of, has been going on as to who is the GOAT (Greatest of All Time)--Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi?

A commendable performance shown by Lionel Messi has proven to exacerbate the nemesis between the fans of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Messi's two goals and two assists helped Barcelona to secure a dominating 5-1 win over Lyon on Wednesday (local time).

Earlier, Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored a magical hat-trick the day before against Atletico, gave his fans a chance to overpower him over the Barcelona player.

With this hat-trick, the Portuguese player helped Juventus dismantle the other side to have a 3-0 win and reached into the quarter finals and as far as the Twitter was concerned, he immediately became the "GOAT" for his fans.

Ronaldo's family was also seen cheering for his impeccable performance and his girlfriend, Georgina Rodríguez, cried with tears of joy.

But Messi gave his fans a chance to have a comeback and tackle all Ronaldo fans with his two goals and assists. Also, Messi is now the top scorer at the moment in this season of Champions League (CL) with 8 goals.

Messi may have been the top scorer in this season of CL. However, Ronaldo still is the top scorer overall in CL with his goal tally 124 followed by Messi with 108 goals.

So, the question still remains unanswered and the topic is still debatable, who is the GOAT? Some fans do have an answer to this inconclusive question and that is support both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as both the players, with their sheer hard work and dedication reached where they are right now.
