Louis Berger bribery: Churchill Alemao sent to seven-day judicial custody

The crime branch of Goa Police has accused him as the main criminal conspirator, along with former chief minister Digambar Kamat

Former Goa PWD minister Churchill Alemao, who was arrested in connection with US management consultancy firm Louis Berger bribery case, was on Thursday sent to judicial custody for seven days.

The crime branch of Goa Police has accused him as the main criminal conspirator, along with former chief minister Digambar Kamat, in the bribery case.

"As far as Digambar Kamat's application is concerned, Desai argued in the morning, I have argued in the afternoon. The matter is fixed for further argument tomorrow in the morning. Churchill Alemao, as far as his remand application is concerned, he has been remanded to judicial custody for seven days," said defence counsel G D Kartani.

Alemao, who served as the PWD Minister under the Kamat-led Congress government in the state in 2010, was arrested on August 6.
