Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Oct. 4 (ANI): Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi's road show in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district on Tuesday lacked enthusiasm among the general public as most of the gathering included buoyed party workers.

The Congress vice-president, who often interacts with the crowd, didn't address the gathering in a two-kilometre long road show from Mahamana chowk to Baghra stand.

The much hyped 'khat sabha' in the National Kisan PG college of Shamli also saw less attendance.

Rahul, however, used the occasion to criticise the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government for not paying heed to the farmers of the country.

"Modi ji has given waived off the loans to 15 big industrialists but he has not done the same for the farmers of the country. He is only good at making false promises," Rahul said.

The Congress vice-president said it was the UPA government, which waived off the loans of the farmers.

He added that the Congress Party was committed to the cause of saving the farmers and their lands.

"It was me, who came to Bhatta Parsaul, when your lands were in danger, Narendra Modi ji wasn't there. I will raise keep doing the same at every juncture," he added.

Rahul while interacting with farmers often mocked at Prime Minister Modi for his promises of bringing black money and providing jobs to the youth.

"Did you get Rs. 15 lakh in your account? Anyone is here who got job in Prime Minister Modi's rule," asked Rahul.

The Congress vice-president kicked off his road show from Deoria in eastern Uttar Pradesh to Delhi, starting on September 6. His display of strength is expected to traverse 233 assembly constituencies to reach out to people ahead the polls in the state early next year.
