Maharashtra: Naxal involved in attack on cops held

Jharkhand Police arrested a wanted Naxal Akash Murmu alias Saheb Hansada from Chakan area of Pune district on Monday.

In a press conference here, Dumka Superintendent of Police (SP) YS Ramesh said that several cases of murders and arsons were registered against Murmu.

He was wanted in a case in which six police personnel including then SP of Pakur district died in an attack in Jharkhand in July 2013, Ramesh said.

The accused was arrested from his workplace in Alandi Phata in Chakan of Khed taluka. Now, he has been brought to Jharkhand for further investigation.
