Indian tennis player Yuki Bhambri and his partner and New Zealander Michael Venus have defeated number 10 seeds Jean-Julien Rojer and his Romanian partner Horia Tecau in straight sets to advance to the third round of the Australian Open.
Bhambri and Venus, who are both playing in their first Majors, broke their rivals once in each set to record a 6-4, 6-4 win on Thursday in soaring heat.
Reports said that the duo, who won a wild card play-off tournament to make the cut, had defeated Spaniards Roberto Bautista Agut and Daniel Gimeno-Traver 6-2, 7-5 in their opening round contest.
