The House Republicans have reportedly recommended a list of 21 committee chairs, which includes 20 men and only one woman.
According to Daily news, House Speaker John Boehner released his proposed leader list for the upcoming congressional session on Tuesday, without comment on the demographics of the suggested chairs.
The nearly all-male team selection has triggered off another debate over the party's seeming reluctance to involve women in its affairs.
Denying the party to be an all-men's club, House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) said that as part of leadership, the party has a lot of women in its leadership team.
He added that the new class and such a diverse group of members with great backgrounds was going to give the party a really strong boost in the new Congress.
The report further said that of the 58 members-elect joining the House of Representatives, 11 are women.
