West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee greeted Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina after she received the Doctorate of Literature (D. Litt) degree by Kazi Nazrul University in Asansol.
This happened when both the leaders were in Hotel Taj Bengal, Kolkata, on Saturday.
Mamata thanked Hasina for visiting West Bengal and joining the convocations of Bisva Bharati University and Kazi Nazrul University, Dhaka Tribune reported.
She praised Hasina saying how tremendously socioeconomic development has been made in Bangladesh under her leadership.
In return, Hasina appreciated Mamata for setting up Kazi Nazrul University and Kazi Nazrul Airport in Asansol.
Hasina visited West Bengal for a two day-May 25-26 on the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
